My name is Joanna. I want to be a writer.  I like writing about technology, love, sadness, cyborgs, the human body, music, loneliness, films, robots, nostalgia and virtual worlds.

My favourite films are probably Bladerunner and Chungking Express. My favourite authors, mm…JG Ballard, William Gibson, Douglas Coupland, Haruki Murakami and Banana Yoshimoto. My favourite music? There’s a lot so I’ll just mention a few so as not to go on and on: Cocteau Twins, Kings of Convenience, Low, Tindersticks, Band of Horses, The Cure, PJ Harvey, Belle and Sebastian, Karen Dalton, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, The Cardigans, Royksopp, Kate Bush, Nina Simone, Mew.. and more and more.

I’m currently working as an Assistant Language Teacher.  I like taking pictures of sunrises and sunsets. And Sanrio products. So it’s a good thing I’m in lovely Japan!
